An acreage home with a spa cave reminiscent of the Playboy Mansion’s famous grotto, though a lot more family-friendly, has hit the market to the north of Brisbane.
Owners Shannon and Blake Robertson built a spacious four-bedroom home on their 3,300sq m block at 9 Farry Rd, Burpengary East with their two children and pet dogs in mind.
But the swimming pool with beach entry and spa grotto ended up being the highlight of the property.

Living a life of luxury in a unit
The home at 9 Farry Road, Burpengary East, features open-plan living flowing out to the rear entertaining areas. Picture: supplied.
“We think it’s the focal point of the home. It’s where we love to unwind and the children still haven’t lost interest in it,” Mrs Robertson said.
The couple were inspired to install the showstopper pool after seeing a post on social media.
“We went to school with the guy who does the rockscapes and we saw one of his designs pop up on Facebook,” Mrs Robertson said.
“We got him and his dad out to see what they could do — he runs Structural Rockscapes and his dad runs Gumnut Pools Noosa.”
The spa cave (right) was created in the custom pool area which includes tropical landscaping, rockscapes and a beach entry.
The father-son duo created a magnesium pool with 12m long beach entry and an eight-seater spa inside a rock cave with waterfall.
“Both kids and adults absolutely love it,” Mrs Robertson said.
“It was the best thing we ever did. We’ve had some huge parties here and everyone is in it.”
The pool area includes tropical landscaping and a gazebo, and there is a fire pit area with pizza oven and a covered patio overlooking the pool.
Inside, the home has an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area opening to the patio. The kitchen has a butler’s pantry, stone benchtops and stainless steel appliances.

The master suite includes a walk-through wardrobe and an ensuite featuring double basins and a double shower with four shower heads.
The remaining bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and there is a media room, children’s retreat, family bathroom and laundry.
The property comes with a 16x10m shed with power and plumbing, raised veggie gardens, fruit trees, a chicken coop and a children’s playground.
The home is on the market for offers on the $900,000s through Mary-Jane Matthews of Ray White Burpengary.
